Halloween Oreo Frozen Hot Chocolate + KitchenAid Giveaway! {NOW CLOSED}

Oreo Frozen Hot Chocolate 1You know what sucks? Ripping off a bandaid. It hurts and it doesn’t make me very happy. You know what also sucks? Running. Especially when you have busted ankles. Except deep down I’m secretly ok with the not running thing. Sore ankles makes for a good excuse. Cheers to all you other elliptical-worker-outers.

Another sucky {but totally awesome thing} is downing 9 of these and getting a brain freeze. It’s so good, but so bad. My 3 year old was quite confused because she drank hers with a straw at a moderate speed….like any other normal person… and looked at me funny while I cringed and hit my forehead. Do you know how hard it is to explain a brain freeze to a 3 year old?

C’est tres difficile.

And there’s your french lesson for the day. You’re welcome.

Anyways, what I’m trying to say is the brain freeze is worth it because this frozen goodness is basically a million oreos in liquid form. I think hospitals should start hooking this kind of stuff up to everyone’s IV’s. I think it would make us all healthier and bring world peace.

In my brain, things like this happen. Don’t hate, appreciate.

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have noticed me post a picture of  a package of Halloween Oreos. I’m throwing them into everything these days and cannot stop. So consider this a warning.

In the mean time, let’s make another Frozen Oreo Hot Chocolate.

Start by plugging in your beautiful KitchenAid blender. This is mine. I call her Bertha. Not really.

Super simple, takes less than 5 minutes and tastes AMAZING! Perfect for a quick chocolate fix or a fun little treat for the kiddies when they get home from school!

Anyways, enjoy :) Have a great Monday!

Halloween Oreo Frozen Hot Chocolate

1 1/2 cups cold milk
1 cup crushed ice or 2 cups ice cubes
1 envelope hot chocolate mix
1 tablespoon sweetened cocoa powder*
5 Halloween Oreo cookies, broken into pieces {+ more for garnish, if desired}
spray whipped cream

Directions:

In a blender, pour in milk, ice, hot chocolate mix, cocoa powder and oreos. Blend until desired consistency is reached and no ice remains. Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream and oreo cookie pieces. Serve immediately.

*GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED*

My friends at KitchenAid want you to try out their 5-Speed Blender {in Tangerine}, just in time for Halloween :)

This KitchenAid Blender has 5 speeds, an ice-crush mode, and a pulse mode for all your blending needs. The 0.9 horsepower motor with Intelli-Speed Motor control ensures superb and consistent performance. I love this blender and think it does a great job. Whenever I use it, I always get smooth and delicious results. This frozen hot chocolate is a perfect example….and no small chunks of ice were left over either. LOVE that.

    what a clever idea to use a packet of hot cocoa mix with Oreos. i had been using (milk) chocolate syrup, but found it too sweet. the different flavor from the cocoa mix seems like it would work much better. i can’t wait to try it. thanks for the idea!

    Hi Lauren! I am going to make THIS. I just picked up some halloween oreos at target to make some halloween chocolate bark, but I’m sure I can spare a few for this delicious concoction!
