Main Ingredient Needed

Based on the name Oreo Magic bars, yes, you guessed it!! We need Oreos for this recipe plus graham crackers and a few other ingredients. Here’s what you need:

  • Graham Cracker Crumbs+ Melted Butter– stirred together to be used as your crust.
  • Marshmallows– I used Jet Puffed Mallow Bits
  • Mega Stuffed Oreos– feel free to use original oreos or any other kind you like!
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk– holds everything together
  • Mini Chocolate Chips– for melty chocolatey flavor!

Variations

There are a ton of variations to making these bars. Here are few suggestions to try.

  • Add shredded coconut.
  • Use different flavored chips- mint, butterscotch, white chocolate.
  • Add chopped chocolate bar chunks- Heath Bar or Hershey’s Cookies N’ Cream.
  • Use different flavored Oreos- Golden, Mint, Caramel Coconut (whatever you can find and sounds good!)
  • Try Chocolate Grahams instead of Honey Grahams.
  • Add some chopped pecans.

How to Make Oreo Magic Bars | Directions

After a quick 10 mins and you’ll have these Oreo Magic Bars in the oven! Here is how to make this recipe. So easy!

Step 1: Prep

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 9×13 pan with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

Step 2: Make the Crust

Stir graham cracker crumbs together with melted butter until moist. Press this into the bottom on the prepared pan creating an even thin layer.

Step 3: Add Sweetened Condensed Milk + Toppings

Pour sweetened condensed milk overtop, spreading to cover the bottom crust evenly. Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips, marshmallow bits and oreos.

Step 4: Bake

Bake 15-20 minutes or until edges are golden and bars are set. Cool to room temperature, cut into bars and serve.

How to Store Oreo Magic Bars

Cut into bars and store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Freezing Instructions

To freeze, cut into bars and place a single layer onto a baking sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes or until frozen. Once frozen place into a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months. Placing parchment paper between layers will keep the bars from sticking together.

To defrost, move frozen Oreo magic bars to the refrigerator for 1-2 days until ready to serve.

This sounds good I always made the magic bars my son loves them still at 38 years old lol, but i found out when i make them i put the chocolate or butterscotch chips (whatever you use) on top of the crust first then pour the sweetened condesed milk over that then put the coconut last it just works out better for me . in this case its oreo bars so it should work the same with the marshmallows.

Lauren – Did your graham cracker crumbs cover the entire bottom of your 9×13 pan? I ask ask I used exactly 1 1/2 C, but mine didn’t completely cover the bottom — not sure why and the rest sort of melted together. The bars you made are beautiful and I’m trying to figure out how to tweak it so mine will turn out the same! 😉 Thanks!

Yes, my graham cracker crust covered the entire bottom of the pan. It was a thin layer, but it covered the bottom.

What do you mean by melt together? The chocolate is supposed to get melty and the sweetened condensed milk is supposed to cook and solidify. Are you using marshmallow “mallow bits”? They’re like the ultra mini marshmallows you’d find in hot chocolate mixes that are harder than mini marshmallows. You can buy containers of them at target.

I made these today and they are very yummy! Although, my bars do not look like the pictures. My mini marshmallows are melted goo, and the chocolate chips are melted too. Next time, I will wait to add all 3 of the toppings until the last 5 minutes of cooking time, so that it looks better.

    1. Dawn

I had the same end result! Mine look like your description. The sweetened condensed milk was actually boiling by the end of 15 minutes on 350…my guess as to why everything else was melted.

These look a million times better than normal Magic Bars. I hate normal Magic Bars with a passion. I think I’ll be baking these in the near future! <3

YUM! I made these tonight and they are so good! I used Easter M&M’s instead of the chocolate chips, so they’re all pretty and pastel for the holiday. 🙂 Thanks for a great, super simple recipe!

Holy cow! Those look beyond “magic”. My kids would think I was the best mum in the world if I made these bars for them.

  13. Danielle

I only have regular marshmallows and marshmallow fluff on hand :/ Could either of those be a good replacement for themallow bits!?

    1. Kelly

I am wondering the same thing. I want to make these tonight, and same here, only have fluff or regular sized. My try to cut the whole ones in half, lay them on so they will get toasty. Will let you know how it turns out! These look DIVINE!!!!
