Caramel Coconut Cream Oatmeal

I have been using Quaker Oats in my recipes for years because they taste great! My kids love a good bowl of oatmeal in the morning, especially when it has some of their favorite goodies mixed in 🙂

This contest is celebrating the versatility of oatmeal and all the ways to enjoy it by inviting you lovely people to submit your most inspired oatmeal flavors using 2-5 ingredients for a chance to win $250,000, and have your combination brought to life as Quaker’s newest oatmeal flavor.

In celebration of this contest, I am going to share with you one of my new favorite Oatmeal combos I have come to LOVE!

Here’s how to make my Caramel Coconut Cream Oatmeal:

Start by microwaving some Quaker Quick 1-Minute Oats with some milk and a pinch of salt. This should take only a minute or two. Super speedy.

THEN! Add on a dollop of plain greek yogurt, toasted coconut and caramel sauce!! That’s it.

It’s so dreamy, you guys. And takes less than 5 minutes to make. #winning

Caramel Coconut Cream Oatmeal

Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Quaker Quick 1-Minute Oats
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons toasted coconut
  • 2 heaping tablespoons plain greek yogurt {or whipped cream if you're feeling sassy}
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce

Directions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine oats, milk and salt. Cook on high 1 1/2-2 minutes. Remove from microwave and top with coconut, cream and caramel. Serve.

  2. Be sure to make your flavor: original, creative and simple; you want a lot of people to like it, so be sure it has appeal.
What happens next

It will then be up to America to decide which oatmeal flavors come out on top. Three finalists will be announced on www.BringYourBestBowl.com on or around National Oatmeal Day – October 29, 2016 – with the flavors hitting shelves in stores nationwide for consumers to try and vote on online through November 19, 2016. Once votes are in and tallied, the grand prize winner will be announced and rewarded with $250,000 in February 2017 along with the chance for their oatmeal creation to debut on shelves nationwide.
