Avocado Toast is so much more than a fad. It makes for a delicious breakfast, snack, or lunch and is super easy to throw together. Enjoy!

Avocado Toast

Avocado Toast

This Avocado Toast craze just became REAL. I’ve got three simple variations that are all delicious in their own way and by golly very addicting.

What is Avocado Toast?

Avocado Toast is exactly what it sounds like! Toast with avocado on it. The most simple version is made up of toasted bread, avocado, and a bit of salt but you can fancy it up any way you’d like.

Today, I’m going to share with you three different versions and what you can do to make your own variations. Creamy avocado spread over warm toasted bread, get ready for good eats!

Bread with Various Toppings

Main Ingredients Needed

Now let’s get down the basic recipe for avocado toast that you can dress up later. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Crusty Bread – the better quality of bread you have the better your dish will be. I used Ciabatta, but you could also use regular bread or even pita bread.
  • Ripe Avocados – you don’t want firm avocados because then you can’t mash it into a spread. But you also don’t want them to be too squishy either. When choosing avocados, lightly squeeze each one. You want it to squish a little when pressed.
  • Salt and Pepper – season to your liking! I like mine a little saltier.
  • Toppings – dress your meal up with various toppings! More information below 🙂

Toppings

Here are the three kinds of avocado toasts I made plus some other ideas!

  • Buffalo: blue cheese crumbles and hot sauce
  • Bacon Parmesan: crumbled bacon and shaved parmesan cheese
  • Caprese: sliced tomatoes and fresh basil
  • Loaded: radish, green onions, jalapeno, and sunflower seeds.
  • Mozzarella: this is exactly what it sounds like, make the basic recipe, and add some fresh mozzarella atop of it.
  • Eggs: add poached, scrambled, or sunny-side-up eggs.

ooh, you totally made me crave avocado toast right now. I think I’m gonna try the first and the last one, since blue cheese is so not my thing, even though my whole family loves it (I’m weird like that :D)
