Things for a Tuesday

Hello friends.

I usually do these kinds of posts on Saturday but just had to do one today. There’s a lot to talk about. Can you guess what is going on in my life today? Here she blows:

1. My sister had a baby on Sunday. A rather adorable baby girl. I want to cuddle and snuggle her for the REST OF MY LIFE. I can’t wait to go visit them next week.

2. Oh yeah. We’re going to visit her next week. (—–> I’m so excited.}

3. Last Saturday, we moved approximately 20 miles northwest of our last apartment. I didn’t mention anything to anyone about this but now am ready to scream it from the rooftops. WE MOVED!

4. Why am I so excited we moved?
(a) I now have a million zillion paths and sidewalks to run on! Fist bump.
(b) Our new place is HUGE + newer + nicer. Holla back, ya’ll.
(c) We live 1.4 miles away from my husbands office. Hallelujah. No more 2 hr. commutes for him!
(d) The most important reason we moved: SONIC is literally 0.6 miles away. OMG.

5. I’ve lost all hope of losing that last 5 pounds before swimsuit season.

6. My new motto is: embrace the chub. Who’s with me?

7. My 3 year old likes to poke my chest area and laugh whenever I hold her. I’m not quite sure why….perhaps because she knows it’s all fake??

8. Moving has also brought about some problems. Well, problems only bloggers would get heart palpitations over. Meaning- internet providers here are a pain. We were supposed to get it installed yesterday but they never showed. Apparently our address “doesn’t exist”.

9. UGH. Kill me now.

10. The people at Starbucks know me by name because I’m there A LOT. God bless free Wifi. And the smell of coffee.

11. We live about 3 miles from the coolest kitchen store in Portland. I went there for the first time today and spent between $1-200. I’m not at liberty to say.

12. My husband reads my food blog {and doesn’t look at our bank statements}.

13. Tomorrow I’m testing English recipes. What’s your favorite food from England? Any Banoffee lovers out there?

14. I’m also posting a crazy good recipe tomorrow. Stay tuned :)

    Couple of things:
    1. Congrats on the birth of your niece!
    2. You live that close to a Sonics? You can seriously just walk there everyday! So jealous.
    3. I will embrace the chub with you. We only live once, right?

    Congrats on the move! When we move to Ohio later this month, my husband and I are planning on crashing with my parents…leaving him with an hour and a half commute. I don’t think it will be long before we’re looking for a house closer! I hope your internet is up and running soon :)

    Lol! Its past midnight but I still read my feeds. Congrats on your niece! thanks alot, I now want pineapple…(I think that was from another post?) And, I was embracing the chub before it was to be cool! Anyway, youre too funny! {fist bump}

    I’m English so feel free to run anything by me! One of my favourites in toad in the hole – sausages inside fluffy Yorkshire pudding, with lots of gravy! Or Eton mess – seriously, heaven in a bowl.

    I’m always so disappointed that banoffee contains bananas because I am so down with the toffee part, I just can’t stand bananas. Can’t wait to see what English delights you come up with!

    I am a huge fan of the banoffee pie and especially love it with a biscuit base. Yum yum yum! Also good call on the not disclosing the price of the kitchen stuff, I am a sucker for it too :)

    Congratulations on the big move! I bet that is so nice to have your husband home sooner from work, not to mention close to Sonic!:) I know what you mean about no internet. When we moved last summer it was a few weeks before we got cable/internet and it about did me in! Hope you get it hooked up soon!

    I’ve been trying to find/recreate stuffed shells with Welch Rarebit sauce. This used to be on the back of Mueller’s pastas shells. Made with chicken or shrimp? Any ideas are appreciated =)

    Hi From England Banoffee is not my favourite even though I have a very sweet tooth I find the banoffee sickly sweet but then again i have not had a banoffee pie for so long I think I need to try it again my favourite is date crunch a layer of crumble (the sort you put on top of an apple crumble) then a a layer of dates the crumble on the top yummy

      Like what some of us might call “date squares”? I can seriously attack some of those. To me, dates are really deceptive: at first, they taste only moderately sweet, and seconds later, they can overwhelm you with hard-to-tamper sugary, sticky-to-your-teeth sweetness. Very sneaky (but addictive).
