Super Bowl Party!

pizza So, apparently there’s a really big football game coming up that millions of people are going to be watching. You call this the ‘super bowl’. I live under a rock and hate football so therefore have no idea who’s playing.

Ok, I just googled it–Giants vs. Patriots!

This really means nothing to me. Usually when I watch a football game it’s with my husband and I’m pretty sure I’m so annoying that he’s avoided it at all costs.

“Are we going for the blue team?”

“What’s the deal with the flags?”

“Why did that fat man paint his body green?”

Honestly, the only good thing about football is the food. When I was in college, there were lots of Super Bowl parties and they all revolved around food. It was like a huge birthday party on crack. I loved it. So, I’ve pulled together some of my favorite recipes that I feel would make an awesome Super Bowl Party. Go team! Wait….who’s playing again?

You are too funny! My husband and two boys are very into football, so I can’t help but become immersed, too. Go Giants! You have some fantastic recipes here, Lauren!

I really really love college football, but not so much pro. I am not sure why because I used to care when I was little. Not sure how that faded away. But thankfully I still love food and this all looks great.

Yeah, I’m pretty much with you on the football thing. Try as I might I just never really got it but hey, any excuse for a party is good with me :) I love the hype, I love the commercials, and I love half time – all the things my husband can’t stand about it. That’s why we make such a well balanced couple. What a beautiful assortment of yummy choices. Excuse me while I go browse.

Of all the Super Bowl parties happening this weekend, yours is the one I want to be at :) Best food, and someone else who is totally unclear on why fat men are painting their bodies and yelling.

Hmmmmm, this kind of makes me wish I was having a Super Bowl party! (Even though I don’t watch American football … or much football at all for that matter).

Living in New zealand, It’s hard to understand the whole Superbowl thing but then if I equate it to the NZ All blacks playing a test match, then maybe I can understand. We go nuts here about rugby. Meanwhile, those tasty-looking recipes would be a hit any time.

Great minds think alike! I got roped into watching for the first time this year, and figured I might as well since the Pats are local and as a native New Yorker I should be interested in the Giants. But the guys wouldn’t even let me escape when I decided doing dishes would be more interesting. I’d rather be eating the likes of your chilis, salsas, and dips.
