Honey Mustard Chicken Pretzel Pockets

Honey Mustard Chicken Pretzel Pockets This post was brought to you by the makers of French’s Sweet Yellow Mustard and Spicy Yellow Mustard. I received compensation to write this post through the Sweet and Spicy Influencer Program…all opinions expressed are my own. Well, hello friends! This past weekend, we’ve been boiling in Portland. Hello 90’s weather My daughter is in heaven because the hot temperatures mean we get to go swimming/play in the sprinklers/go to the splash pad etc.. My son hates the pool and anything to do with summer activities and water, so him and my husband hang out in the shade/in the car/somewhere where the air conditioning is prevalent. And I? I continue to bake. I mean, the hot weather translates into me eating watermelon and popsicles, but I still get the urge to turn on the oven and bake up a storm, even if it means heating up my house. Most recently, I made these Honey Mustard Chicken Pretzel Pockets and they didn’t even last 24 hours! All four of us devoured these right up. Honey mustard is a beautiful thing, especially if you make it with French’s latest mustard creations: French’s Spicy Yellow Mustard with Cayenne Pepper and French’s Sweet Yellow Mustard

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

I was going to post another pie recipe {are you sick of those yet?} but decided to just post a bunch of my favorite recipes that I’ll be throwing together for Thanksgiving. I mean, I won’t be making EVERYSINGLEITEM in this list, but a lot of what is here is what I’ll be dreaming of!

Incase you are still on the fence about what to make or bring or eat at your Thanksgiving feast, let these recipes be inspirational! I try to make every recipe I post as UNintimidating as possible. All of these are no exception! They are made with common ingredients that you can find at any grocery store, plus they won’t take hours and hours to make, except for mayyyybe the turkey. But that’s a given.

Thanksgiving week is upon us!! I’m thinking about buying a deep freezer just so I can buy multiple turkeys and have a place to store them. The prices for these birds are AMAZING! I love me a good turkey, ya’ll.

I’m also all about those post-turkey tryptophan induced food comas naps.

Except this year, I think my sister-in-law is making ham instead of turkey….soooo all the more reason to buy 17 birds to fill up this deep freezer. AMIRIGHT?

Lauren, you’re always right!

Thanks, friends. I know I can always count on you. :)

I think I’ve found pumpkin dessert mecca. I love me a good chocolate lava cake, but no other dessert has really ever come close to that pinnacle of delicious. Until now? If you don’t like chocolate as much as you like pumpkin, then we are close to something that will blow your mind. If you are like my husband and thinks any dessert that doesn’t involve chocolate should be illegal, then you might not like is so much. But you guys, no matter where you stand on the choco-loving scale, you’ve at least got to give this a try at least once this season! It’s spicy, sweet, festive and gets thrown together in a snap. This is like a pumpkin lava cake and cobbler love child. It’s got all the yummy factors that I love in a dessert and uses ingredients I’m 99% sure you already have in your pantry. #winning Just be sure to remember to add in the baking powder because…..it WILL NOT work without it. I speak from experience. Sad sad experience. I may have shed a {pregnancy induced} tear or two when I pulled it from the oven. Ahem. ANYWAYS…… Here’s how to make it: Stir all dry

You guys. My Gilmore Girls binging is coming to a close…it’s another show I can add to the archives of my brain, next to Friends, Friday Night Lights, Monk, Friends again and Dawson’s Creek. Now, I’m left with all of my kids favorite Netflix shows to stream while I edit photos, do dishes, come up with new recipes, and grow another child. And as much as I love DinoTrux and Larva, I think I’d rather find another show to get sucked into. Tell me all your addicting shows. Share the love. Do it because you care. Comment below Speaking of addicting things: download the game Patchmania to your iphone or tablet or mobile whatever. You will thank me later, man. It’s crazy good. Brooke and I both play together on the couch for a few minutes everyday after she gets home from school. We’re on level 72, incase you were wondering. #notashamed   Also addicting: all these pies I’m making. I’m on a kick, yo. The crazy thing about this Gingerbread Cream Pie is it actually tastes like a soft and sweet gingerbread cookie in pie form. It’s BANANAS. Also: it takes 10 minutes to whip up. OMG. It’s another pie

I was doing some calendaring with my husband last night trying to plan our week and I cannot believe how soon this next baby will be joining out family! Thanksgiving, Brooke’s Nutcracker performances, Christmas, my birthday, New Years, BABY!

That’s the order and we couldn’t be more excited. Slash nervous. But mostly excited!!

Still can’t agree on a name, but I think we’re down to about 5 solid boy names that we’re choosing between. Progress? Sort of. We’re slowly getting there. I’ve got 10 weeks of busy holidays and preparation to get through before I really REALLY need to worry. But hopefully we’ll figure it out before then.
In other news….PIE!

Did I mention I was on a pie kick? Well, I can’t seem to get it out of my system, so here’s another pie recipe. This time pumpkin cream pie! I am in love with easy and fast no-bake pies.

Who am I kidding though? I love all pie.

Me and my kids can’t seem to catch a break! We all have pesky coughs and colds and can’t seem to get over them! Well, technically Blake is pretty much aok now, but Brooke and I managed to get the brunt of whatever virus this is and are still rubbing and sniffing all the essential oils and guzzling all the green juice in the greater Portland area.

My husband, however, has magically stayed healthy and I have a feeling he’s the carrier of said virus and he’s secretly out to kill us.

He denies it {typical} but I don’t believe him. Slash maybe I’m not thinking clearly?!

That can’t POSSIBLY be it.

In other news, I had a weird and slightly disturbing pregnancy dream a few days ago about a girl who doesn’t like me very much stabbing me in the stomach….at church of all places.

*It was at this point that my husband told me I wasn’t thinking clearly.

I’m not sure whether I can blame my own vices for throwing this recipe together or just straight up pregnancy cravings. Either way, I have a feeling you all are going to thank me for this little gem of a recipe.

I’ve been trying to come up with fast and easy recipes that anyone could throw together in a hot second or two. With the looming holidays making their way towards us, I figure we all need these “oh crap, I’m going to a party and don’t know what to make” recipes just waiting in the wings. So here is my first installment. Roasted Jalapeno Queso…the perfect spicy and cheesy appetizer that everyone and their Mom will love.

Well, I’m almost done my Christmas shopping!

I know we’re not even to Thanksgiving yet, but I gotta stay on top of these kinds of things or else before we know it, Christmas will come and go and I’ll have a third child in my arms. 47 days until Christmas, 74 days until Gord and I become outnumbers with them kiddos.

Tis the season!

And, just so were clear, ‘almost done my Christmas shopping’ means I have every Christmas gift on my amazon wish list. All I have to do is click ‘buy’. Buuuut, my daughter is changing her Christmas list daily, so I’m waiting until something sticks and she mentions it more than once. She did say she wanted an iPhone more than once, but lets be honest: that’s never going to happen.

“But I could text you Mommy!”

“I could watch Netflix in my room, Mommy!”

“I wouldn’t have to share the iPad with Blake, Mommy!”

This girl!!! I did not expect this level of persistence from my 6 year old.
