Hot Fudge Sauce

Tomorrow I’m taking my kids to Utah to stay with one of my best friends so I can fly to NYC to find an apartment this weekend. That came up quick for me. Time flies when you’re going insane.

I’m excited and nervous and excited! Story of my life.

I can’t believe I’m moving to New York City. I keep typing it out and saying it to myself, but it hasn’t quite sunk in. Maybe once I sign my lease and hand over a check for 6x my mortgage payment (gulp), then it’ll get a little more real? PS- the cost of living in the city is borderline ridiculous. Have you heard the term sticker shock? Well, I have sticker RAGE.

Speaking of rage, I get to see my husband this weekend! (Ha! Just kidding, honey.) Only for 37 hours, but I’ll take it! I think it’s been 9 weeks? 10 weeks? Lots of weeks since we’ve seen each other. I’m going to be super awkward incase you’re wondering. I’m awkward in most social situations…that’s why I blog. So, it’ll be fun and weird. But mostly fun!

Big items from my to-do list getting checked off this weekend.

Hot Fudge Sauce

Anyways, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been posting a lot of dessert recipes lately. Sometimes I do a lot of dinner recipes and sometimes you can’t get me to stop making desserts. Ah, the phases of life.

I thought I wasn’t a stress eater, but once I start up making sweet treats, it’s hard to stop. First my son’s birthday cake, then this Streusel Cake and now NUTELLA HOT FUDGE SAUCE. Let that sink in for a minute. Hot fudge sauce made with a whole jar of Nutella.

We’re not worried about getting bikini ready at my house.

I’m not sure if there is anything better than warm Nutella hot fudge sauce drizzled over ice cream. Maybe warm Nutella hot fudge drizzled over ice cream and brownies?! I could get on board with either of those options.

Hot Fudge Sauce

So, this recipe is ready to go in about 10 minutes and uses only a handful of ingredients, like heavy cream, vanilla, salt and Nutella. Oh and a touch of corn syrup (to make it shiny!) It’s really a yummy sauce to have on hand for an ice cream party, a birthday party or just incase you need a late night sweet treat. The hot days of summer are right around the corner, so be sure to make a batch of this to have on hand, just incase!!

Recipe Links and tips

This is the small saucepan I used to make this recipe, but I think it would work well in a large 4-cup liquid measure and the microwave! I haven’t tried it, but think it would work out really well. Just watch the cream carefully to make sure it doesn’t boil over as it’s simmering away in the microwave.

You’re going to want to store this in an airtight container in the fridge to ensure it stays fresh and delicious! Because the recipes uses fresh cream, you need to keep it in the fridge. Plain old mason jars or even plasticware works really well!

For serving, I used cute ice cream glasses I found at a Goodwill in Oregon. (Similar here.) This is my favorite ice cream scoop.

    Hi there
How much “sauce” do you end up with in the end? Also, could I sub out some of the Nutella for chocolate chips if I’m in a bind?! Thanks!
