Happy News!
Good news, ya’ll! The Lauren’s Latest family is growing! I’m happy to announce that we’ll be expecting a baby come April 2013.
This is VERY happy news for our little family. Gord and I have gone through ups and downs that come along with infertility. Yes, I said infertility. It’s something that many women have to face and it’s heart aching and frustrating. Without getting into too many details, my body doesn’t make it easy for me to get pregnant. But, after almost 2 years of trying and going through 3 different doctors, we feel truly blessed and very lucky that I’m pregnant with a seemingly healthy little baby. It was our {lucky} 7th round of clomid that did the trick. Once we found out that the 7th round actually took, we kept this to ourselves, not even telling close family and friends until we had a 2nd ultrasound to confirm that everything was fine, which it was!
So, now we are spreading the news and are shouting it from the rooftops!
So right now, I’m 15 weeks and 1 day along….not that I’m counting or anything. Ha! This photo of my little belly was taken this morning. I was really sick to my stomach between weeks 6 and 9, but started to come around week 10. It’s really hard to hide nausea and put on a happy face when you’re out with friends. Just sayin’. I still get exhausted if I overdo it or if I don’t get enough rest. I get lightheaded as well if I stand for too long or if I’m thirsty. I crave salty things…but mostly just fries. Haha! And sugar makes me feel sick to my stomach so I try to avoid sweets. I’m mostly still in my regular clothes, although wear my pants unzipped with a belly band to avoid awkward situations.
Anyways, that’s all I can think of for now…
BUT, here’s a question for you: What are your recommendations for comfortable, yet cute maternity clothing? What stores are good for this? All the stuff I’ve found looks like old lady moo-moo gear. Eek!
Ooh, AND: What are your predictions on gender? Boy or girl? Either way we are thrilled. High fives all around!

Congrats!! So exciting! My brother’s girlfriend has infertility issues as well and is currently as far along as you! You’re going to be a pretty pregnant momma! I hope you have a boy since you guys have a girl already, not that girls aren’t fun because they totally are! I’m lucky to have one of each and it’s nice being able to have princess tea parties and also being able to play baseball with my son. Maternity clothes wise I just got the tees from Target when they went on sale in the next size up and from H&M. Sometimes Oldnavy.com had some cute stuff too. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy! Are you going to find out the sex, and if so, are you going to have a gender reveal party since those are becoming more trendy these days?

I probably will throw a gender reveal party
And I’m usually “pretty” until about 30 weeks…then things get all puffy and chubby! Ha! It’s all worth it for this little one though

As I read this post, I am eating one of your no bake granola bars! As someone else that has suffered through infertility, CONGRATULATIONS on your little bean!! I so understand the clomid cycles….those are so hard! Wishes for an uneventful rest of pregnancy!

Praise the Lord! Congrats! So, I don’t comment very often at all, but I just had to chime in… I have no predictions for gender, I’ve never been good at that!
I would suggest Motherhood Maternity for cute jeans and some basics. I have an 8 month old, so while I was pregnant with him I found cute/inexpensive tops at Ross Dress For Less, if you can believe that! For dresses, I found (at JC Penny, Kohl’s, Target) stretchy/empire waist styles in my size or one size up, and a lot of times wore calf length leggings with them. Excited for you and your family!

Dealing with similar issues-hoping that your story of success finally becomes mine sometime soon.
. Check out the pregnant fashionista blog- she is amazing when shopping for maternity clothes- she know where every sale is always. Plus she has great suggestions for essentials. Also check out MarionBerry Style blog. She is about 7 months pregnant and is doing a great job of styling a few maternity pieces with “regular” clothes. Best of luck to you!

Congratulations to you! What a blessing for your beautiful family! Your daughter will be a great big sister! I have 2 girls, and it is the sweetest thing! I would bet on a girl…(or maybe I’m just biased) but I totally craved salty, not too much sweets, they were too sweet (didn’t think that would EVER be possible for me). I am a runner as well, and didn’t have to buy too many of actual maternity clothes (even though my stomach was like a torpedo). But, Target and Old Navy online has some cute, affordable maternity clothes, as well as styles that right now are in style but not maternity that would be great for a baby belly. Best of luck to you and your family!

Congrats! So happy for you all. When you blogged about “drinking the fumes” I thought to myself that you were pregnant
. Sounded like something I would have said while I was pregnant. Infertility stinks…but after all of the tears and stress I have two beautiful healthy girls. I think you’re having another girl!
