Happy Anniversary to us!!

Wedding 1  Today we celebrate 4 years together! Well, technically we’ve been ‘together’ since March of ’07 {and I’ve been in love with this boy since ’04} but were married in November.

The day was chilly, dark, dreary and pouring rain. My Mom said the rain was good luck, but all I could think about were crappy pictures we were going to get. The weather Gods were smiling down on us though, and once we were officially married, we walked out to sunny skies. Still chilly, but gorgeous.
n193305940_31903290_1366 I usually don’t talk about my husband much on here since my site is a FOOD blog after all. But, let me take a minute and explain what my husband is like and why he is so wonderful. Gordon is a polite, kind, honest and hard working man. He is selfless with his time, devoted to our little family and could very well be the corniest, cheesiest person in the world. He treats everyone he meets with equality and respect. He has large muscles and killer dimples which still make me weak at the knees just like they did the first day I met him. But most importantly, he makes me feel beautiful and special on my down days when I’m feeling like an unimportant ugly duckling.
IMG_0205 I’m so grateful that I married Gord when I did. Lots of people thought we were young, dumb, and crazy to get married at 21. But truth be told, I knew I’d regret NOT marrying him. Deep down, I knew it was what I was supposed to do which is why I wasn’t nervous in the least on my wedding day…except for that darn rain. :)

For those of you interested, you can read about what made him fall in love with me HERE and how you too can snag a man like Gordon!

And, make sure you enter to win the Calphalon Giveaway and the Butterball Giveaway! Only a few days left!

hi lauren.. wishing you a very happy anniversary. you have a good man, and you explained what you love about him really well. i get it. btw.. i made those pumpkin caramel blondies of yours and they were so good, I lowered the fat and they were still really good. i’m gonna work on fattening them up a bit for next time. :-)
    enjoy the day.

Just found your blog and OMG YUM. That comment goes for all the recipes. On this one? Let me just say this–my charming husband and I were wed when I was just barely 22 and he was just barely 23. Almost ten years later, we’re two kids in and still just as crazy about each other as we were in high school. Getting married young is awesome. :) Happy (belated) Anniversary!
