Halloween Recipe Round-up

Happy Halloween! This holiday completely snuck up on me. Maybe because I don’t typically look at a calendar. Correction: I do look at a calendar, but never connect it with holidays. Is that odd? Oh well. A lot of things don’t connect with me. So, I’ll be running around looking for a Rapunzel wig today…assuming my daughter doesn’t change her mind by 5 pm. We’ve been alternating between a dog, a cat, Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood and Cinderella hourly. HOURLY! It never stays the same, so I’m just going with Rapunzel. Hopefully, she’ll come around to it….eek.

Besides figuring out the costume situation, I love Halloween. Really I do. But mostly just for a few small reasons:

1. Halloween Candy

  • a. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • b. Peanut M&M’s
  • c. Snickers
  • d. Butterfingers
  • e. Tootsie Rolls
  • f. Sour Patch Kids
  • g. Pull n’ Peel
  • h. Twizzlers
  • i. Anything else wrapped in plastic given to me by strangers

2. Forcing Dressing my daughter in a costume and parading her door to door. She is the most adorable child ever {….said her mother.}

3. Eating most of the Halloween Candy after my little princess is off to dreamland.

I’m such a good mom.

I would also like to point out that my husband does the same thing. Yes, I just tattled on my husband. I have no shame.

Anyways, since I’m still feeling like I got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the throat…no recipe today. HOWEVER. I did not leave you high and dry. No sir! I would never do that to you! So, here are some of my favorite Halloween inspired recipes. Enjoy! Be safe trick-or-treating tonight :) And if you happen to sneak some candy from your kids’ stash, be sure to come give me a virtual high five. Candy stealers unite!!

    Nibbling the candy after the kids go to bed is all part of the fun. One of ours is allergic to peanuts which means that WE have to eat all her Reeses, Snickers, Peanut M&M’s, plus ANYTHING that MIGHT POSSIBLY have been near a peanut. So we basically eat all the chocolate. :)
