Everyday ingredients – Extraordinary food

Giveaway!

As many of you know, I now live in a small town in Oregon. When I first moved here, I thought it was a little po-dunk town with nothing to offer but Wal-mart and Safeway. But, the longer I’ve been here, the more treasures and smaller run companies I’ve found! They are little jems in the rough and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite things that are only found in Hood River.

So, for this giveaway, I will be giving one lucky winner some sampler sized Mini Pecan Shortbread Cookies, Mini Lemon Shortbread Cookies (my favorite!), Delicious Mixed Nuts (Gord’s favorite!), and a big 12 oz. jar of Vanilla Pear Butter–super delicious! All because I love ya! Seriously, all the comments and tweets I get make my day!

How to enter: Simply leave (1) comment under this post telling me about a recipe from my site you tried or would like to try. That’s it! One entry per person please! And, in order to be eligible, you need to be a follower of Lauren’s Latest through Google, like Lauren’s Latest through Facebook AND/OR follow me on Twitter.  This giveaway is open to legal residents of U.S and Canada….sorry Jayne and all my other followers who live elsewhere! I still love ya!

The last day to enter will be Friday, November 5th at Midnight PST so make sure to enter asap! Sorry, folks! The contest is now CLOSED!

Good Luck, friends!

I made your white chicken chili about a month ago. I was craving Southwestern food but my spouse does not like too much spice so my regular red chili was out. I remembered the recipe you posted a while ago so decided to try it! It was so good and Jay loved it! I am sure the extra cheese I melted on i did not hurt :)

I also “borrowed” a cookie recipe of yours – the one with the pumpkin kiss, but minus the kiss :) Have you seen those chocolates in Canada? I wanted a very basic sugar cookie recipe that I could make quickly before I had a friend come over to visit!

I am a follower on Facebook! Thanks Lauren!

So i go through phases, Healthy and not healthy. In my healthy phase I’ve tried your “Whole wheat carrot muffin” and am pleased to say that it was a hit for all three of us and also a sneaky way to get Lyla te eat carrots!
I also tried to get in touch with my Oregon roots and made your granola. . . YUM! also a great way to get Lyla to eat whole grains!
In my not healthy phases. . . well lets just say you know your a hit in this house :) If i tell Rob its your recipe than he has no reservations lol.

I also love your cherry/almond/coconut sugar cookies, and shortbread cookies with the chocolate and jam filling. MMMMmmmm – mmm! Plus, I lived with you for a year and got to sample all your delicious cooking. Those were the days . . .

Your peppermint cream cheese brownie bars are SO on the menu for my daughter’s annual cookie decorating party! She’s 13 now, and this will be our 10th party. I make sugar cookies and gingerbread boys & girls ahead of time, and the girls go to town with icing, sprinkles, and whatnot. (Only 3 girls when they were tiny and needed lots of help — now it’s wall to wall girls!) We also make one recipe while they’re here, and that’s where your bars come in. I predict they’ll love them!

You already know I love your blog… don’t get me started on the amount of recipes I want to try. :-) My current favorite has to be the Warm Caramel Sauce recipe you included with your Apple Fritters… I wish I could make it daily and put it on everything I eat. Besides trying it on the Apple Fritters, we’ve been eating it on leftover sweet bread, pudding, apples and as a glaze for cinnamon rolls… it makes everything better! Thanks for giving us a favorite! and those lemon cookies sound amazing!
